Hi. I’m Halla. Come share my passion for Yin yoga!
I first started practicing yoga in 2000. Having practiced various styles, I fell in love with Yin. In 2022, I became a 200 RYT®. In 2024, I went to India and completed 500 RYT® in Yin and Restorative yoga. My continuing education includes 50 hours Pranayama, 40 hours Yin, 35 hours Sound Massage, 30 hours Yoga Nidra, 10 hours Meditation, and more.
I currently teache Yin yoga in Jeddah in both English and Arabic; online, in a private studio, and at local studios. Prior to that, I worked in Human Rights, International Development and Rapid Aid, and Community Service in the Education Sector. I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology from King Abdulaziz University and a master's in Intercultural Relations from the University of the Pacific.
Yoga and meditation have brought much grounding and peace to my busy life as a mother of 3 kids, 4 cats, and 1 dog. My favorite pose is Tipsy Frog!
In yin yoga, we hold passive poses for an extended period of time close to the ground. We are not meant to use muscular effort but rather relax into the poses allowing gravity do the work for us. The target becomes the ligaments and joints for improved mobility and flexibility, rather than strength and endurance.
There are usually only a few poses in each class because we hold the poses for a 3-5 minutes. This allows us to focus on our breathing and come into a meditative state. Leading a fast paced, hectic life is very yang, so a yin practice allows us to slow down.

Free Spirit Yoga Classes
Each class has a theme working on different meridians in the body. The 1-hour class normally starts with some breathwork and meditation, followed by poses that improve flexibility and mobility, while allowing the body and mind to completely relax and let go. Class ends with final relaxation imparting a sense of calm and bliss.
